PAS DE CHAT
Have you ever noticed that even when a cat is still, or sleeping, a vital energy emanates from her body, a sense that she could leap up at any moment from the deepest of sleep and take action? There is an alertness to a cat that, in a way, defines "catness."  There is a grace in the cat's slightest gesture, a grace filled with vitality.  How can we become more like cats?  I feel that simply to observe a cat, with ones' full attention,  with the goal of learning from her ways, is enough to begin to instill in us her physical/intuitive wisdom.
We humans have become separate from our bodies.  We objectify the body, over-work it or simply ignore it.  We define ourselves by how our bodies look rather than how they feel.  But the cat does not "cat"egorize her sensations; physicality is connected with every other aspect of her awareness.  The cat does not worry about her appearance knowing that she is beautiful because she is a cat.  The cat never loses her connection to her wild side.   Even a cat who lives her whole life indoors, supplied with all her meals, miraculously never loses her hunting instinct, her knowledge that even though you give her meat out of a can that meat was once alive.  Thus the cat never loses touch with the reality of our physical lives, the connection between what is supplied and how to get it there.  We humans need to remember these connections.
We humans need to remember our wild side.  The cat, although she can watch and enjoy TV by our side, never gets so caught up in it that she forgets to pounce on a string.  We humans must remember how to pounce on a string, too!  Try it!  It is rather fun and connects you with your body in a rather interesting way
